Young, Titans look to move past emotional scare

Vince Young was an all-star in high school.  He then went on to play for the Texas Longhorns, only losing two games as a starter for three seasons. 

During his junior year of college, Young helped UT to a 13-0 record and won the national championship on a fourth-and-five touchdown run against a dominant USC defense.  He then was drafted in the third round by the Tennessee Titans, named Rookie of the Year in 2006 and led his team into the playoffs in his second season as a pro. 

SPC cross country teams impressive at pair of meets

SPC’s men’s team move back in to No. 1 in the nation in the NJCAA Division I Hill N Dale Cross Country rankings. The Lady Texans are now ranked No. 15 in the national poll.

Coaching changes not paying off for some

Coaching transitions are always a risky gamble.

Sometimes switching teams or playing levels can resurrect a fading career, as is the case with the University of Southern California's Pete Carroll and the University of Florida's Urban Meyer. 

This transition, however, does not go over quite so smoothly for many.

 

Jiu-jitsu legend makes trip to Lubbock to teach seminar

Royce Gracie is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend.

He was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Gracie’s father, Helio, is known as the father of jiu-jitsu. Therefore, he grew up around the sport.
