SPC Regents ponder expanding Plainview campus

State enrollment, the Plainview Center, and the 50th
anniversary of South Plains College were among the topics of
discussion at the October meeting of the SPC Board of
Regents.
Darrell Grimes, vice president for
academic affairs, presented an update on the progress of the
Plainview Center in his report. He informed the Board about
all the classes being offered on the campus, and that
enrollment has nearly doubled from last fall.

bodies, but something worse. It is the lack of higher
education among our citizens.
SPC Symphonic Band to perform Oct. 19

The SPC Symphonic Band will be featured in its first concert
of the fall semester on Oct. 19.
Open to the public, the free concert
begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Theatre in the
Fine Arts Building.
Audition dates set for next theater prodution

South Plains College’s Fine Arts Department will be holding
open auditions for “I Ought to Be in Pictures”, their second
fall production, on Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. in the Theatre for the
Performing Arts.
The production is planned to run Nov.
16-18, all showing at 7:30 pm, with a final matinee
performance at 2 p.m. on Nov. 19.
