Cross Country squads compete at OSU

The South Plains
College men’s and women’s cross country teams recently
competed at the Cowboy Jamboree at Oklahoma State University
on Sept. 30.
The Texans finished eighth in the University Division with
263 points. The University of Arkansas finished first with
40 points. Abilene Christian placed second, and Oklahoma
State was third.
SPC’s John Kosegi placed second overall with a time of
23:55. Denzel Ramirez finishes 54th in 26:55., while Josphat
Melly was 62nd with a time of 26:42. Also, Jay Wilson was
74th in 26:53, and T.K. Revis was 109th in a time of 27:41.
Michael Hernandez was 144th with a time of 28:40, Lance
Medina was 148th in 28:46, and Chase Wade was 155th in
29:00.
The Lady Texans did not have enough runners to qualify as a
team. Of those who did compete, Gus Newmeyer placed 66th in
19:50, Mary Patuel finished 91st with a time of 20:48, and
Fernanda Esquivel was 123rd in 23:18. Krystal Charles was
130th with a time of 24:40 in her first race back after an
injury.
