Texting while driving hazardous habit

by Tausha Rosen, staff writer

Text messaging is the new frontier for communication.

At all times, a phone can be seen in a person’s hand, thumbs typing away a message to a friend. At the mall, in school, even in the car, people are sending text messages.

When driving down the road at night, it isn’t uncommon to see a driver hugging the shoulder a little too closely, or bouncing back and forth from line to line. Alcohol is usually the substance to blame for these actions.

Economy, expenses give students reason to save

by Daniel Clayton, opinion editor

This is just the tip of the iceberg. The economy works like a wave, with peaks and valleys. So it is possible for things to get worse before they get better. There are a few things a college student could do to prevent living from paycheck to paycheck.

My brother, my hero

by Lisa Hernandez, staff writer

There's this boy I know who is really smart and funny.

He has to overcome struggles in his life, and because of that I idolize him. He's my brother.

Waiting on second coming of Rock gods

by Thomas Mooney, staff writer

Rock n’ Roll is on life support.

It’s a dying breed on the brink of extinction. Everything and anything has affected our music today. Why aren’t there any new Black Sabbaths or The Whos that are coming to save the day? I wouldn’t say that we are on the edge of catastrophe yet, but it’s making its way toward that.
