What's the big deal?
Joe Gonzales, sports editor

The Yankees lost in seven games… The Dallas Cowboys are 2-4 and look to be headed to the bottom of the NFC East...

What’s the big deal? Hey Bambino, where did you go? Did you forget about the curse? I think he did. Bill, what’s the big deal man? After a 10-6 playoff appearance, and now 2-4 and going nowhere fast. What is a fan like me to do?

I tell you what I am going to do! I will continue to wear my Yankee cap with pride no matter how many times I have had some one walk up to me and tell me how much they stink and continue to watch the Dallas Cowboys play even if they go 2-14. That’s what being a real fan is all about. No matter the outcome, you stand by your team through the good and the bad.

I must admit in the final inning of Game Seven of the Yankees-Red Sox sereies I thought I was going to cry. I could not believe it. After all, I had predicted the Yankees in 7, and it was about to happen. But then the unthinkable happened… the BABE fell asleep, forgot or something happened. Mars lined up with Venus, and Pluto was jumping over the sun. You know what I mean? Something this crazy had to happen for the Yanks to blow a 3-0 lead. How could the Sox have beaten the Yankees four straight at home? You’ve got to be kidding me. The Red Sox were favored to win the Series, but after the Yankees took a 3-0 lead, it was cake yo cake… Arrggg those dadgum Red Sox!

Now, we come to my other team, the Dallas Cowboys. Hey, the boys are only 2-4 and still have 10 games left to play. But the next three opponents, starting with the Detroit Lions, who are sitting at 4-2 and have quite a potent offense with rookie wide receiver Roy Williams not playing like a rookie. Just what the Dallas secondary needs, a huge wide receiver to give them more fits.
The defense, a unit that was so strong last season and ranked number 1 overall, can’t seem to get it’s act together. With games against the Bengals and the Philadelphia Eagles remaining things don’t look like they are going to get much easier.

So all you faithful Yankee and Dallas Cowboys fans just relax everything is going to be all right. I hope…
