Savage next generation of Texas country

Joseth Savage is “just a old farm boy who occasionally puts on tennis shoes.”

He is the next generation of super star Texas country musicians. Music came at an early age for Savage, as he started a DJ service when he was a junior in high school at Portales, N.M. because he “loved music a lot, every aspect of it.” 

Lynch proves genius with 'Inland Empire'

David Lynch is someone who knows how to shock and awe audiences, but with his latest film “INLAND EMPIRE” he really has outdone himself.

Lynch is one of the most respected writer/directors in the history of modern cinema. He uses such grace to be able to make characters interact with each other, and show no emotion it is no wonder he is so honored.

Lopez brings successful comedy act to Hub City

Actor and entertainer George Lopez was in Lubbock recently to perform his one-of-a-kind routine as fans piled into the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum.

Laughter was surging through the building on Oct 19, as it was a nice comedic relief for the Hub City.

Perry scores with 'Why did I get married?'

Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married” is one of the greatest movies I have seen in a long time.

It had its funny points and, its serious points. But most importantly, it had its emotional points.

'Rainbows' proves quite colorful

Offering listeners a glimpse into their colorful and melancholy music, fans of the British band Radiohead have added another album to their library.

The evolutionary band is still hitting fans with unexpected changes in music style and composition. “In Rainbows” was released via Internet on Oct.10 and is being downloaded by the thousands.

The Veat goes solo in Thai town

This week The Veat goes solo and travels to Thailand-Thai Pepper, that is.

This restaurant is located in Lubbock on 19th Street, across from Covenant Hospital. It is extremely busy during lunch, which is the time that I went. The place is just too small, with too many tables. That is probably why a lot of people seemed to have called in their orders.

'Kingdom' provides thoughtful message for audience

“The Kingdom” is an action-packed war movie that depicts terrorism, explosions, kidnapping, and investigations.

The first scene of the movie shows an organized terror act-taking place at an American base in Saudi Arabia. This act especially hits home when FBI agents learn they lost a close colleague in the midst of the planned acts.

Big Moe will be missed

Another one of Houston's finest has fallen.

Big Moe, most known for his first CD "City of Syrup" and the song "Barre Baby," passed away on Oct. 14 of an apparent heart attack while in a coma in Houston's Ben Taub hospital, known for taking in low-income residents and those with no insurance.
