All-Class Reunion to reconnect students

Former South Plains College students will have an opportunity to “recollect and reconnect” during the first-ever All-Class Reunion.

 

Graduation application deadline set for Nov. 1

The deadline is quickly approaching for those students at South Plains College who wish to graduate in December.

Former students return to SPC as faculty, staff members

With South Plains College’s all class reunion right around the corner, alumni from all will be visiting the SPC campus.

Everyone who has graduated from South Plains College will be invited to this event, though some will not have far to travel. There are more than 40 faculty members who have received degrees from the college.

Tom T. Hall Studio marks 20th anniversary

The Tom T. Hall Recording and Production Studio is an excellent example of a very hands-on, real-world learning place.

This spring, the hall will have been serving students and musicians for 20 years.

 

Plainsman Press receives awards at TCCJA

At the recent fall convention of the Texas Community College Journalism Association, the staff of South Plains College’s campus newspaper, the Plainsman Press, received several prestigious awards for their journalistic efforts.

 

SPC Livestock team takes home honors in Dallas competition

South Plains College’s Livestock Judging Team recently took home several honors when competing at the State Fair of Texas Collegiate Livestock judging contest.

The event, which took place on Oct. 8, was held in Dallas and featured judging teams from across the nation.

'Over Here!' cancelled, construction blamed

Sorrow has fallen upon cast and crew of the South Plains College fall production “Over Here!”

“It really upset me that the play ended, because the day we found out, I had just said something about how all of us had become a family. And then all of a sudden, it was just gone,” said Ashley Hays, freshman who played the role of Wilma, a passenger. “Ironic…”

Foreign language fest scheduled for Nov. 2

South Plains College welcomes local high school students for the 16th annual foreign language festival.

The festival will be held on November from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local high schools from Tulia, Olton, Bovina, Hereford, Shallowater and Muleshoe will be among those attending. They will compete in several events in order to test their foreign language skills.
