Lady Texans Gunning for Repeat Performance

The Lady Texans are embarking on what will hopefully be another deep run into the playoffs with a new coach at the helm of a basketball program with a storied history.

This season should be exciting, as the team is more athletic than ever and will look to pick up the tempo while looking to pick up where last year’s team left off. 

“I like our team, and we have all the pieces; We just have to put them together,” said head coach Michelle Wyatt.  “We hope to be as competitive as last year.”

The South Plains College men’s basketball team has a new face and a different style of basketball in position for the 2005-2006-basketball season, literally.

Attrition is a common part of junior college basketball, but this year coach Steve Green may have his hands full.

Kipyego Captures NJCAA Championship

South Plains College freshman cross country runner, Sally Kipyego of Kenya, won the National Championship at the NJCAA national cross country meet that was recently held in Lawrence, Kan. Kipyego finished the 5K race with a time of 17:09 to finish in first place. Freshman Happy Mary Bacia of Uganda placed third overall with a time of 18:17.

Cowboys Aiming for NFC East Title
