Miss Caprock to be crowned Nov. 16

It is once again time for each of South Plains College’s
clubs and organizations to pick one of their best and
brightest members to represent them in the 50th
annual Miss Caprock pageant.
World AIDS Day focuses on promoting education

An estimated 40,000 new HIV cases were reported in the
United States last year.
They were
among the 4.3 million people from around the world who
contracted the disease. Of the 3 million people who died
from AIDS in 2005, 12,000 were Americans. It continues to
run rampant.
Student musicians to be featured in fall concert
by Jon Seaborn, editor-in-chief The South Plains College Jazz
Band will be performing Nov. 15 on the Levelland campus.
The free concert will begin at 7:30
p.m. in the Sundown Room in the Student Center. The SPC Jazz
Band is led by Dr. Bruce Keeling, professor of music
