Pouty lips, Longhorns, ignorance among few things that annoy
me
by Andrew Garvin, news editor
Everyone has his or her pet peeves.
I am definitely not an exception. As much as I try to
tolerate everyday’s pros and cons, everyone has those days
when every little thing “grinds your gears.”
That saying, for instance, ticks me off. What gear are we
grinding exactly? Since when do humans have gears? I could
care less where the saying is derived from, and the fact
that people still use it today amazes me.
Indie Rock being manipulated
by Thomas Mooney, staff writer
With the rise of the Mp3 and declining CD sales, bands are
finding themselves between a rock and a hard spot more often
than ever.
Indie rock-based bands have always had
to find more outlets to get their music out and to get paid
for it. During the past five years or so, many Indie bands
have gone to the alternative of letting their music find its
way to popular TV dramas such as “Grey’s Anatomy” and “The
O.C.,” as well as to movies such “Juno” and “Garden State.”
Everyone wins...except me
by Daniel Clayton, opinion editor
The Phillies won the World Series, Barack Obama won the
presidency and my brother just recently won a lotto scratch
off.
Everyone has been a winner lately. Yet
it seems as though everyone is winning except me.
JFK assassination leads to conspiracy theories
by Lisa Hernandez, staff writer
As the 45th anniversary of the assassination of President
John F. Kennedy nears, I decided to revisit the conspiracy
theory surrounding his death.
The
Kennedy family has always fascinated me ever since I was a
child. My parents practically brought me up in the '60s, at
least when it comes to the history and the music. I started
researching the events that happened before and after Nov.
22, 1963.
