Bye, Bye, Goodnight Sports Fans
by Joe Gonzales, sports editor
My career at the South
Plains College Plainsman Press has been nothing short of amazing.
The
people who I have had the opportunity to work with I will never forget. I
have been the sports editor for the past four semesters and have had the
opportunity to do so many things I will never forget.
Texas Tech Red Raiders Football Team Deserves Respect
by Jared Owens, staff writer
For the Texas Tech Red
Raider football team, the 2005 season has been comprised of several

by Joe Gonzales, sports editor
To say that
South Plains
College’s Sally Kipyego is a great athlete is truly an understatement.

short-but-truly-amazing career, then one can begin to realize what kind of
special runner SPC has in their program.

in Hobbs, N.M., the Lady Texans are out to prove that they can be just as
dominant as last year’s team. Despite a disappointing four-point loss to
Odessa College in the championship game, the Lady Texans have started this
season off on the right foot with a 7-1 record.

a NJCAA title.
The
Texans opened the season with a pair of losses to Dodge City and
Independence in the WaKeeney Shootout in Kansas on Nov. 5-6.
