My career at the South Plains College Plainsman Press has been nothing short of amazing.

The people who I have had the opportunity to work with I will never forget. I have been the sports editor for the past four semesters and have had the opportunity to do so many things I will never forget.

For the Texas Tech Red Raider football team, the 2005 season has been comprised of several first-ever accomplishments, only to be over shadowed by the national media’s perception that Texas Tech hasn’t played anyone or really accomplished anything.

To say that South Plains College’s Sally Kipyego is a great athlete is truly an understatement.

When an athlete has accomplished as much as Kipyego has in a short-but-truly-amazing career, then one can begin to realize what kind of special runner SPC has in their program.

Lady Texans Off to Fast Start in Pre-Conference Play

The South Plains College Lady Texans are off and running toward another great season.

With a strong effort at the WJCAC Pre-Conference Tournament held Nov. 17 – Nov. 19 in Hobbs, N.M., the Lady Texans are out to prove that they can be just as dominant as last year’s team.  Despite a disappointing four-point loss to Odessa College in the championship game, the Lady Texans have started this season off on the right foot with a 7-1 record.

The South Plains College Texans season continues as they hit the hardwood with the hopes of securing a NJCAA title.

The Texans opened the season with a pair of losses to Dodge City and Independence in the WaKeeney Shootout in Kansas on Nov. 5-6.
