Dorm moms leaving behind more than just job

With stress
constantly brewing in our daily lives, it would be nice to
simply get away from it all.
Maybe go to a
mansion, where your only responsibility is that of only
playing games? Somewhere secluded from everything, with an
opportunity to meet new people? Where a bar is locked and
loaded 24/7 with unlimited alcohol and drinks? No, this is
not the real world, just VH1’s love series “Contestant
Life.”
Lowrance prepares for mission to Serbia

There are a lot of good things that come from a passionate
student.
Passionate students feel the necessity
of doing something when they see a need.
Katelin Lowrance made the decision to go to Serbia during
her Christmas Break. Lowrance says she started to feel a
calling to do missionary work. Her dream is to use her
education to do mission work.
Historic animations draw new crowd

Soviet animation shorts intermingled in a historic
presentation to the public.
The Louise
Underwood Center for the Arts of Lubbock presented in the
Helen Devitt Jones Studio Gallery on Nov. 10 a film
screening of Historic Animation. The event, hosted by Rob
Weiner, showed animated shorts, both American and Soviet
that preceded the appearance of computer-animated work.
Allen does more than teach, she inspires

Stephanie Allen is an accomplished and inspirational
instructor who students can turn to for motivation.
Allen, assistant Professor of Speech at
South Plains College, grew up in the small town of Jayton,
where she attended elementary, middle and high school. She
said her high school had such a small number of students
that the school played six-man football. While in high
school, Allen knew she already had an interest in speech.
Relationship seminar offers sound advice

Relationships are a part of everyone’s life.
But sometimes the toll a serious relationship can take can
be detrimental to academics and everyday life. The
importance of having healthy relationships and being able to
recognize unhealthy relationships were discussed during a
seminar that was held on Nov. 26 and Nov. 27 in the
Founder’s Room of the Student Center at the Levelland
campus.
