'Autobiography of Santa Claus' begs readers to believe

For as long as the story of the holiday gift-giver has been
around, generations of children, and adults too, have
wondered if Santa Claus is real.
Author Jeff Guinn believes
he has proven that Father Christmas really does exist. Guinn
is an award-winning journalist and editor for the Fort Worth
Star-Telegram. He also has written six other books.

“The Haunting of Molly Hartley” had so much publicity
surrounding it before its release on Halloween, but the
movie turned out to be one big “snore-fest,”
The story starts off
with Molly Hartley (Haley Bennett) waking up from a horrible
nightmare. That is something that has been plaguing her
since her mother was admitted into a mental intuition after
attacking her. She has carried the memory of the attack, and
it seems to haunt her day in and day out.
Fest week features five days of great music

Students and faculty from South Plains College’s Creative
Arts Department will finish the semester rocking out by
participating in “Fest Week.”
The series of festivals will feature performances by
students involved with the ensemble courses at SPC, as well
as students involved with video production classes.
'Curious Savage' slated for December performances

Walt Disney said that for every laugh, there should be a
tear. The South Plains College Theatre Department will
present a play that follows just that outline.
“The Curious Savage,” a
play by John Patrick is set to open on Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m.,
and will run through Dec. 6 in the Helen DeVitt Jones
Theatre for the Performing Arts. The play also will be
presented on Dec. 7 at 2 p.m.

New debuts, great bands highlight year

Many new bands burst onto the Indie-rock scene, ranging from
the Afro-beat pop band Vampire Weekend, to the die-hard folk
rhythms of Fleet Foxes.
