“When you are in a rodeo, you have to block out everything and just concentrate on you and the livestock, if you don’t do that you are going to screw up or get hurt” Butterfield said. 

Lady Texans sitting at No. 8 in the NJCAA National Rankings

The South Plains College Lady Texans have alot to be proud of. They have seen their efforts on the court be rewarded with a NJCAA ranking as high as No. 3 this season.

The Lady Texans, who currently sit at No. 8 after dropping a conference game to Odessa College, are currently 19-2 overall and 4-1 in WJCAC play and primed to make a deep run in this year’s NJCAC National Tournament.

 

Got Juice? Steriod policy good for baseball

For years, baseball has not had a policy regarding illegal substances, more specifically, steroids.  Steroids have had such an impact on baseball in the past five years that it is almost impossible to talk about baseball without discussing them.  While other professional leagues have had policies against steroids in place for some time now, the 2005 season will mark the first season that serious random testing for steroids will be in effect for Major League Baseball.

Hold 'em or fold ' em?

Moneymaker’s success in the WSOP Tournament immediately triggered a domino effect across the country. Today, almost every garage, living room and back room of many fine establishments hold regular poker games, usually Texas Hold ‘Em. In most metropolitan cities, many bars and nightclubs have used a loophole found in the system to run regular Texas Hold ‘Em tournaments. The key to doing this without it being considered gambling-- no buy in. They allow anyone over the age of 21 in to their establishment at no charge to play poker.
