Generation warped by pop culture trends

by Justin Lopez, staff writer

I recently read that in May 2006, President George W. Bush began to peruse an act to erase all borders between Canada, the United States and Mexico.

Not only is this insane, but this confuses me. I have read several different versions of this so-called “act,” which further proves that the Bush administration has no clue about what they are doing. This is frustrating to me, because they look like a bunch of chickens running around with their heads cut off.

Last year, President Bush signed a Secure Fence Act. It was all in an effort to keep illegal immigrants out of the United States. Why would he go and do a crazy thing like that? Can we say, “Confused”? Too many vacations for you there, buddy.

I have read and watched my share of politics, and I just have to say that, with all due respect, this country has lost it. I feel as though we are losing our intelligence to media simple-minded bull. I would apologize, but I really do not feel the need. I did earlier. It irritates me to the point where I honestly think even I could do a whole lot better at running this country.

I am not saying that I am political at all, because, trust me, I hate politicians, almost as much as I hate lawyers. But there is a good chance that Clinton or Obama will be elected at the next presidential election, which will just allow the same chaotic mess in the White House to continue.

Clinton is running for president again, the female Clinton. In all honesty, I cannot really see a difference between the two. All I know is that I feel more and more closer to this 2012 conspiracy that these Mayans, Incans and Christians have been talking about since before I can remember.

For those who do not know, there are several 2012 conspiracies that have been predicted by several historians, one of which states that in 2012, a world leader will be assassinated.

Have we honestly turned into monkeys? Are we programmed to just work, sleep, eat, and watch T.V.? It seems that our lives have been warped to revolve around this reality-show life style. We love “American Idol.” Wait a minute. Why in the world am I saying “we?” I do not watch that. I actually hate that show. Two reasons: The judges have no idea what they are doing half the time, and the contestants are all lame.

“I want to be the next American Idol”, but I cannot sing to save my life.

That is what I am talking about. They are all the same. They compete against each other to see who embarrasses themselves first. I do not get it at all. Yes, these people might actually be smart, but for someone who is really smart, they can be pretty stupid sometimes.

Everyone seems to care more about who got voted off “American Idol” than the extreme issues in our country. I do not watch T.V., and if I did I would probably throw it out a 23-story building just to see it explode. That seems more interesting to me than a singing reality show. (This includes all the other ridiculous reality shows such as “Survivor, “The Real World,” “The Apprentice,” etc.)

It is not just the media, but it is also this current.com website that is pulling me in. I feel like a magnet is drawing me into all these lies and silly tricks that they have up their sleeves. I cannot control it.

First, it starts with the North American Union. It slowly drips down the faucet of lies and comes out the pipelines of the Caspian Sea.

Some people are saying that it is all planned out, and that it has been for 60 years now. I could believe that, but do I not have a choice? I think I do. I just do not see why the government, the elite, even the media are making all these decisions behind our backs.

It is becoming clearer to me why the government is so secretive about everything they do. I am beginning to see who is actually going along with it, or just realizing it, or trying to avoid it. Avoiding and going along with it is pretty much the exact same thing.

I think we should realize it, analyze it, dissect it, and then just throw it away. Do we really need to keep secrets from everybody?

It is all getting out of control, and everyone is starting to live inside his or her own little bubble. The children will grow up to face the world of pop stars and drugs. All I am saying is, can we please, please wake up and smell the old-fashioned conversations that our grannies use to have with us? Can we please go back to the more simple times when peace was our number one agenda? It would be much easier.
