Calling it quits:
Next stop for Smith is Hall of Fame
by Joe Gonzales, sports editor
Growing up as a
Dallas Cowboys fan, I have had the chance to watch the team in
the ‘90s, a team that included Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin and my
favorite player of all time, Emmitt Smith.
Needless to say
when I was watching ESPN and Emmitt announced his retirement, it
was a sad day that I will never forget.

With
conference play reaching the midway point, the South Plains
College Texans are looking for another playoff bid and are still
in the hunt for a Western Junior College Athletic Conference
championship.
Like
him or not, Brady is a winner
by Jason Shipp, staff writer
For the past
four years, I have scoffed at any remark made by any sports
writer, football analyst or fan saying that Tom Brady is a
clutch quarterback. Any time that anyone has said that he would
choose Tom Brady over any other current quarterback to lead a
fourth quarter-drive, I thought he was crazy. Peyton Manning of
the Indianapolis Colts, Brett Favre of the Green Bay Packers,
and Steve McNair (when healthy) of the Tennessee Titans, among
others, were all better candidates for such a task.
