Up Close with Crimson Envy

 Desiree Mendez, circulation manager

It has been about five months since we last heard from Crimson Envy.

Well, our favorite guys are back. The band features Cameran Nelson as singer and lead rhythm guitar, Charlie Garner as bass, Tate Ruthardt as guitar and Daniel Poque as drums.

They recently performed at Jake’s Backroom in Lubbock on Jan. 7, with more than 200 people that showing up to support a local band.

“Our Lubbock fans have been nothing but amazing,” stated Nelson.

Crimson Envy will start touring with Rustic Circle from Big Spring, while Kaypsyd from Lubbock will be joining them on a few of the tour dates. The tour dates will be released soon at www.myspace.com/crimsonenvy, www.myspace.com/rusticcircle or www.myspace.com/kapsyd.  Check those sites for the time and place for upcoming shows.  This is Crimson Envy’s first tour.

“ I am really looking forward to hitting the road this year with Rustic Circle and Kapsyd for our West Texas 2006 tour and find out what the rest of Texas has to say about Crimson Envy,” said Nelson.

Crimson Envy will be playing at South by Southwest on March 11 in Austin, Texas. This is the biggest music festival in Texas, with more than 200 bands expected to perform. This is where unsigned bands go to get a chance at being signed.

“We are so excited to be playing at South by Southwest,” Poque said..

The band has new merchandise out, such as t-shirts for girls and guys and new bandanas. They also have a CD now titled, “ Ordinary.”

“Thank God for the last minute, because without it nothing would get done,” said Ruthardt.
