Students invited to free Oscar panel discussion

College students are encouraged
to attend an exciting night of panel discussions and a look
into an entertainment production studio.
Caprock Film Society
will be having an Academy Awards panel discussion and tour
of Digital Base.
It will be held on
Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Digital Base Productions, located at
2715 81st Street in Lubbock.
The program will
consist of a panel discussion about the upcoming Academy
Awards. The panel members include: William Kerns,
entertainment editor of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal and
the voice of entertainment for KLLL radio; James Eppler,
entertainment editor/weekend producer for Fox 34 News @ 9;
and Rob Weiner, Film/Popular Culture Historian and Reference
Librarian-Mahon Library.
Student and other
members of the audience will be allowed to voice their
opinions as well. There will also be an Academy Award
contest that evening so sign up to be eligible for a prize.
Light refreshments
will be served. The event is free to all, and during this
event Film Society Memberships will be sold. Students will
receive discounts on memberships and other associated items.
