Advising and Remediation Plan

Remediation is continuously required for enrolled students who fail one or more sections of the placement test until all TSI requirements are met.

MATHEMATICS COURSE PLACEMENT

Restricted Courses for Mathematics: All college-level mathematics courses and

MUSC-1325.

A score of 230 or higher on the retake of the THEA or a comparable score on another TSI approved test will make the student eligible, with departmental chair approval, to move on to the college-level math courses.

·        Students who do not pass ENGL 0302 with a “B” must retake the class, pass the writing portion of an approved test, or pass the English Department’s Qualifying Essay (students who scored 62 or lower on the Accuplacer or below 205 on the THEA test are not eligible for the departmental essay option).

READING COURSE PLACEMENT

Restricted Courses for Reading: All Biology Courses, HIST, 1301, 1302, and HIST 2301, GOVT 2301 and 2302, PSYC 2301, MUSC-1427, and all college-level English courses).

All internet sections of ANTH-2351, COSC-1401, PSYC-2306, PSYC-2314, SOCI-1301, SOCI-2301, and SOCI-2306)
