Basic Peace Officer Examination

What is the Basic Peace Officer Exam?
A certification exam for peace officers in the state of Texas.  The exam is a computer-based test.

This test is only offered to SPC Law Enforcement / Academy Students.
 

 

Endorsement of Eligible:

Must bring a valid endorsement which indicates date of issue, the state that the examinee has met the current minimum training standards appropriate to license sought; must be a completed original document bearing all required signatures and on current commission format (This will be obtained through the Law Enforcement Department with Larry Nichols).

How much does it cost to take the Exam?
The examination fee is $30. 

Information regarding the Basic Peace Officer Exam:

  • Test is 250 questions and you have 2 hours and 45 minutes to complete.

  • Results are printed after the exam.
