    SPC to host Fest Week April 25 through May 3 in Tom T. Hall Studio

    LEVELLAND – South Plains College’s Creative Arts department will host Fest Week at 6 p.m. April 25 through May 3 in the Tom T. Hall Production Studio. Each night of the festival will showcase different music ensembles.

    Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The shows will begin at 6 p.m. There is no admission charge and the public is invited to attend.

    Praise Fest kicks off the week of music on April 25. The evening will feature a night of praise, worship and contemporary Christian music featuring guest band KPA High School Praise Band (6 p.m.); Hudgins & Sons (6:45 p.m.); and Students Praising Christ (7:30 p.m.).

    Bluegrass Fest is set for April 26 and will feature the best in traditional and modern bluegrass music. The show will feature County Hockley (6:45 p.m.); Bonnie Lee and the Caprock Boys (7:30 p.m.); and Pickin’ on the Plains (8:15 p.m.).

    Country Fest is April 30 and will feature modern country, traditional country, swing, Texas and southern style country music. The show will feature South Plains Playboys (6 p.m.); Murky Waters (6:45 p.m.); Country Jukebox (7:30 p.m.); The Red Dirt Dames (8:15 p.m.); The Red Dirt Ramblers (9 p.m.); and Out to Lunch (9:45 p.m.).

    Rock Fest is set for May 1 and will feature classic, metal, alternative rock as well as rock and roll. The show will feature Another Brick In the Wallney (6 p.m.); The Watusi Kings (6:45 p.m.); Tate-nacious B (7:30 p.m.); Where’s Benjerman (8:15 p.m.); Big Groovy (9 p.m.); Honorable Mention (9:45 p.m.); and 80s Tribute Band (10:30 p.m.).

    Groove Fest is May 2 and will feature modern and traditional jazz, R&B and blues music. The show will feature Acoustic Guitar Ensemble (6 p.m.); Read Book (6:45 p.m.); Electric Jazz (7:30 p.m.); SPC Jazz Ensemble (8:15 p.m.); Groove Machine (9 p.m.); Funkulators (9:45 p.m.); and the Blue Plate Special (10:30 p.m.).

    Thursday Nite Extravaganza is May 3 and will feature performances by SPC’s premiere ensembles The SPC Touring Ensemble (6 p.m.); Thursday Night Live (7:30 p.m.); and Alterna TV (9 p.m.).

    All shows will be broadcast live on SPC Cable
