Annual auction items will pique interests of SPC gala patrons
LEVELLAND – The South Plains College 15th Annual Scholarship Gala offers numerous highlights that are talked about long after the evening has ended. Among the highlights are the silent and live auctions. This year will be no exception. The gala will feature a variety of auction items that are guaranteed to ignite the interest of attendees.
Thanks to the efforts of the Auction Committee members – Chairperson Judy Bryant, Meleta Atchison, Lisa Brooks, Julie Gerstenberger, Kathy Hutchinson, Kellie McDonald, Jackie Shaheen, Sharon Vaughan, Lori Wilson and Janna Worley – this year’s auctions promise to be the best ever.
The silent auction will feature more than 40 items while the Live Auction segment will include unique and exciting items and experiences. There will be several items in the Raffle segment as well as an Elleven Rolling Duffel for the ticket drawing. The items were donated by individuals and businesses.
“I thank the committee members who once again have worked shoulder to shoulder with me to make this year’s auction special,” said Gerstenberger, Director of Development at South Plains College. “The auctions will have something for everyone.”
Gala organizers are seeking to raise more than $100,000 in scholarship support for next year’s SPC students. One hundred percent of the event’s proceeds go to scholarships.
Gerstenberger said that the silent auction will feature some of the traditional fare including autographed books, one-of-a-kind jewelry and original art. Among the new and unique auction items will be a pellet grill, a silver bar, a Bose Wave music system, and an Apple TV set-up. Unique live auction items include a Texas Motor Speedway VIP package for the Texas 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race, a Bon Jovi concert package, a Texas Rangers baseball package, a helicopter hog hunt and number 10 in the SPC Collector Series of Bowie knives hand-crafted by Darrel Raines.
Organized under the theme “Picture the Opportunities,” the event will feature an evening of fine dining, live and silent auctions, a raffle with several prizes such as a 60” flat screen television and a family vacation to Branson, Missouri and exceptional entertainment. Participants also will be treated to recognition of this year’s Pacesetter recipients. City Bank Texas has joined the SPC Foundation in helping support the event as gala host. Great Western Dining is this year’s event underwriting sponsor.
