SPC still seeks Distinguished Alumni nominations
LEVELLAND – South Plains College seeks nominees for its Distinguished Alumni Awards. The deadline for nominees is March 1.
Recipients of this award will be recognized during the annual Employee Recognition Banquet on May 9 and at the 55th Commencement Ceremony on May 10, 2013.
The Distinguished Alumni Awards recognizes the achievements of outstanding former students. The award was established in 1987. Since then, South Plains College has presented the awards to 25 outstanding former students.
Two criteria must be met in order to be considered for the award. The nominee must be a former student for which SPC was a legitimate part of their educational career and the nominee must have worked in his chosen career field for at least 10 years or has made a significant contribution or achievement in his career if less than 10 years.
Nomination forms are available online under the Information for Alumni and Friends tab at www.southplainscollege.edu. Questions may be directed to any of the committee members.
The winners of the award will be selected from nominations received by the Distinguished Alumni Awards Selection Committee comprised of SPC faculty members Billy Alonzo, Cary Banks, Rob Blair, Dane Dewbre, David Etheredge, Julie Gerstenberger, Beth Glass, Ann Gregory, Jim Jenkins, Sue Ann Lopez, Mollie Melton, Peggy Skinner, Pete Stracener, Joe Tubb and Charlotte Young.
