MARCH ACADEMY HIGHLIGHTS

•  All the students learned about TRIO programs in the South Plains area that prepare students for college success during a TRIO Day luncheon. Armida Rosiles, PhD., inspired the students by telling them of how Upward Bound prepared and motivated her to complete her Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral degrees.

•  Seniors participated in workshops about college admissions, financial aid and testing sponsored by the GO Center at SPC. Three of the seniors gave wonderful presentations that explained the purpose of Upward Bound and how it has impacted them personally. Thank you for doing such a great job!

•  Freshmen, sophomores and juniors completed on-line activities to improve study strategies, explore career interests. They also continued preparing for the upcoming TAKS by completing practice questions with the help of tutors.

SPC UPWARD BOUND SAYS THANK YOU TO . . .

Armida Rosiles, PhD. , Assistant Professor of Psychology at South Plains College , for challenging SPC UB students to take advantage of the opportunities offered to them in their pursuit of a college education. By sharing how her participation as an Upward Bound student impacted her university studies, she modeled the great things SPC UB students can also achieve.

GO Center at South Plains College for allowing UB seniors to attend the college access activities March 5, 2005.

SPC STAR Center, Texas Tech McNair Scholars, Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math/Science Programs and LEARN, Inc. for sharing information about your programs with SPC UB students.
