Curriculum
The college-level educational program at South Plains College is organized into three instructional divisions. The Arts and Sciences Division includes academic transfer options and courses of instruction that parallel those at a university and provide the first two years of study leading to a baccalaureate degree. The Arts and Sciences Division is comprised of 10 academic departments and 44 suggested programs of study which are listed on pages 63 through 87.
The Health Occupations Division includes programs of study and courses of instruction which are designed to prepare individuals for employment in the health care industry upon completion of the specified curriculum. South Plains College offers these programs on its Levelland Campus, SPC Reese Center and Plainview Extension Center. The division is organized into two departments that offer 18 individual programs and curriculum options. Health Occupations Division programs are listed on pages 89 through 103.
The Technical Education Division includes programs of study and courses of instruction that prepare individuals for employment in specific occupations in the areas of business, creative arts, computer information systems, professional services and industrial technology. South Plains College offers technical education programs at the Levelland Campus, the SPC Reese Center and the Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center in Lubbock. The division is organized into five departments on the Levelland Campus that offer 43 individual programs and curriculum options. Programs offered at the SPC Reese Center and Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center are organized into four departments that offer 29 individual programs and curriculum options. Some programs are offered at more than one campus location, while others are limited to a particular campus. Technical Division programs of study are also listed on pages 105 through 137.
