Scholarships at South Plains College

The purpose of scholarships is to attract and retain outstanding students to South Plains College and to expand opportunities for students to pursue higher education. The scholarship programs which are administered by the South Plains College Foundation are generally awarded on the basis of academic achievement, character, and leadership qualities.

Funds for scholarships are made possible through the generosity of the friends of South Plains College, including individuals, corporations, foundations, clubs and organizations.

New students who plan to enroll at South Plains College and current students at SPC are encouraged to apply for scholarships awarded by the South Plains College Foundation.

Scholarship programs are classified in one of four categories:

  • College-Wide Scholars Awards and Scholarships which are open to all qualified students;
  • Program Specific Scholarships which are open only to students enrolled in specific major fields of study;
  • Activity Scholarships which are open to students enrolled in specific classes;
  • Nontraditional Student Scholarships which are open to students who are 25 years of age or older.
