What is the RISING STAR ANNUAL APPEAL? The Rising Star Annual Appeal is South Plains College's highest priority for giving. It is a means by which SPC alumni, parents and friends can most effectively contribute their financial support for superior undergraduate education and student success. The Rising Star Annual Appeal is used exclusively to support today's students. What do the GIFTS SUPPORT? Gifts to the Rising Star Appeal are used to provide scholarships for students. More than 40% of all SPC students are the first in their families to attend college. More than 55% or over 5,000 students do not receive any federal student financial aid and can benefit greatly from your scholarship support. With a fall enrollment of more than 9,300 students, the number of students needing financial assistance continues to grow. How your GIFT MAKES A DIFFERENCE Las year, alumni, parents and friends of the College contributed a record amount to the Annual Appeal. The Rising Star Scholarship Fund itself grew 150% and began awarding its first scholarship. As a result of your continued generosity, the South plains college has awarded more than $190,000 in scholarships to 336 SPC students for the 2005-2006 academic year. DONOR RECOGNITION Contributors to the Appeal will be recognized at the following levels President's Circle -- $1,000 and above All gifts are gratefully acknowledged and recognition will be given on the SPC Foundation web site, at special events and in future issues of the College's Mosaics Magazine. THE ANNUAL APPEAL The South Plains College's 2006 Annual Appeal runs from September 1, 2005 to August 31, 2006. Your gift, no matter the amount, will make a difference in the future success of South Plains College students and ensure a high level of instructional quality at the college. All gifts to the Annual Appeal are charitable contributions that are tax-deductible. Gifts of any amount are welcomed and greatly appreciated.
