BMI. DEAN OF CONTINUING AND DISTANCE EDUCATION

The Dean of Continuing and Distance Education performs those duties as assigned by the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Specific responsibilities and duties include:

1. Administer college-parallel courses offered off campus, including all courses offered for dual credit in area high schools.

2. Administer adult vocational courses for business and industry. All short courses held in conjunction with South Plains College will be administered by the Dean of Continuing and Distance Education, with the exception of the Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center. Tuition and fees will be collected by authorized personnel under the supervision of the Dean of Continuing and Distant Education.

3. Administer community service courses. Course content and tuition and fees will be determined by the Dean of Continuing and Distant Education for community service courses, with the exception of the Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center.

4. Organize and administer off-campus programs, with the exception of the Byron Martin Advance Technology Center.

5. Coordinate with the Dean of Instruction all activities related to his/her respective divisions.

6. Coordinate the community service offerings of South Plains College-TV, including teleconferences for the Levelland Campus.

7. Serve as a permanent member of the Administrative Council, the Academic Council and the Instructional Deans Council.

8. Coordinate and assist the Dean of Admissions and Records, the Registrar with all activities and efforts related to registration off campus.
