GD. USE OF COLLEGE FACILITIES,
INCLUDING ATHLETIC AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES (BP)

The College recognizes its responsibility to constituents to make college facilities available as a community service as long as the intended use does not conflict with the mission, role and scope of the College. In order to coordinate the use of college facilities, including athletic facilities, the following policy is adopted.

1. Events which serve the College students will have first priority.
2. Events which tend to aid the college in general for its community betterment programs will have first priority after all college events have been scheduled.  Cost of these events will be determined and a contract for this amount will be signed by an official of the sponsoring agency and an official of the College.
3. In general, requests from individuals or groups to utilize these facilities or equipment for monetary purposes will be denied. The only exception to this will be events considered to be an aid to South Plains College in performing its function as a community college.  Cost to the College will be determined on each of these events and a contract for this amount will be signed by an official of the sponsoring agency and an official of the College.

A staff member or appropriate College official must be present at each event in a supervisory capacity.

The use of college buildings, equipment, supplies, or other property for production of materials, items, techniques, or procedures outside the educational parameters of the college and for the private, exclusive gain and benefit of a faculty or staff member is expressly prohibited. Should questions arise whether or not an endeavor is within the educational parameters of the college, permission must be obtained from the faculty or staff member's immediate supervisor, appropriate administrative officer, and the President.
