REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Eligibility

To be eligible to become a member of the STAR Center, students must be enrolled at South Plains College and meet the following criteria (as determined by federal guidelines):

  • Academic need must be identified (eg., transcript, test scores, instructor/staff referral)
  • U.S. Citizen or permanent resident
  • First generation college student (neither parent has received a four-year degree)
  • Meet income guidelines
  • And or have a documented disability (TRC or Office of Special Services)
Application Process

Applications may be completed at the STAR Center office or may be picked up and returned at a later time. When a completed application is submitted, an assessment appointment will be scheduled to determine eligibility and need for program services. Application information will be evaluated and students will be notified.

Students are encouraged to apply at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.
