Required Equipment

The equipment listed below IS REQUIRED of all students enrolled in the SPC Welding Technology Program.  This equipment may be purchased at any welding supply store.

  • Safety Glasses:  Safety glasses must meet ANSI Z87 specifications and MUST be worn by the student at all times in the welding lab and adjoining areas.
  • Welding Helmet:  Must meet ANSI Z87 specifications and MUST be approved for overhead welding.
  • Welding Gloves
  • Welding Cap
  • Tape Measure (English & Metric)
  • Tip Cleaners (1 set)
  • Chipping Hammer
  • Wire Brush (fine)
  • Slip Joint Pliers (9")
  • Combination Square
  • Wrap-A-Round
  • Striker (triple flint type)
  • Torpedo Level
  • Cape Sleeves with Bib
  • Calculator with Trig. Functions
  • Needle Nose Wire Cutters or Special MIG Welding Tool
  • Layout tools including mechanical pencil, radius marker, & ruler
