Drop & Withdrawal Tuition Policy
If you are unable to start or complete the course(s) for which you have enrolled,
it is your responsibility to officially drop/withdraw from the course(s) through proper
procedures. Failure to follow the drop/withdrawal procedures could result in grades
of “X” or “F.”
Students may drop courses through Texan Connect, the Admissions and Records Office
or Advising and Testing Center through the late registration period.
After registration has closed, a student must complete the online Student Initiated Drop Request to drop a course.
Students may also drop courses in person at any campus location by completing a Student Initiated Drop Form. Complete a Student Initiated Drop Form and return the signed form to the Levelland Admissions and Records Office, the Lubbock Career & Technology Center, or the Plainview Center. You must have a picture ID to complete the drop.

Effective Fall 2007 Semester, students who enroll in college for the first time during
the Fall 2007 academic term or after, an institution of higher education may not permit
an undergraduate student to drop a total of more than six (6) courses, including any
course a transfer student has dropped at another institution of higher education.
During late registration, students may modify their schedules through their TexanConnect
account, but not completely withdraw. Once classes begin, students will need to follow
the procedures above to completely withdraw from the semester.
Tuition & Fee Reduction Policy
The tuition and fee reduction policy of South Plains College is based on the understanding that student tuition and fees provide only a fraction of the cost of providing educational opportunities. When a student enrolls in a class, he or she reserves a place which cannot be made available to another student until he or she officially drops the class. Also, a student’s original enrollment represents a sizeable cost to the College whether the student continues in the class. Therefore, the policy below will be followed without exception, regardless of the reason for withdrawal. These schedules are subject to change without notice.
1. Students who OFFICIALLY WITHDRAW from the institution shall have applicable tuition and fees reduced according to
the following schedule. The last day to completely withdraw and receive a 100% credit of tuition and fees
for Fall 2026 is August 23th, and for Spring 2025 is January 12th.

Students who are receiving Title IV funds and who withdraw from any term prior to completion or receive a grade of W, X, or F in every class will be subject to the Title IV refund policy and may be required to return a portion of their financial aid funds to the federal government. Students will also be required to reimburse SPC through the Business Office for funds the college is required to pay back to the Department of Education on their behalf.
2. Students who REDUCE their semester credit hour load by officially dropping a course or courses and remain enrolled at the College will be credited applicable tuition and fees according to the following schedule:

3. Cancelled or Deleted Classes: Students who register in a class that is cancelled or deleted shall have their tuition and fees fully reduced. The cancelled course is automatically dropped from the student's class schedule. It is the student's responsibility to register for a different section or course if they wish to replace the credit hours for the cancelled class.
