Respiratory Care Program offers a two-year program (21-months)that culminates in an
Associate Degree of Applied Science degree in respiratory care. The Respiratory Care
program is designed to provide students with the theory, laboratory, clinical skills
and knowledge required for employment. The Associate Degree confers eligibility to
apply for the Entry-Level and Advanced-Level Therapists examinations given by the
National Board for Respiratory Care. A successful score on the Entry-Level examination
qualifies the applicant as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) and allows application
for a Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license. Successful completion of the Advanced
– Level examination leads to the Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT).
The program is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Respiratory Care

The prerequisites for the Respiratory Care Program are Anatomy and Physiology I, Microbiology,
and College Algebra. Students are advised to follow the general admission requirements
