SPC Law Enforcement Program to host Auto Etching on July 24

LEVELLAND – The South Plains Auto Theft Task Force will host a free Auto Etching from 3 to 8 p.m.. on July 24 (Wednesday) at the Law Enforcement Technology Building.

The Auto Etching permanently marks the vehicle’s Vehicle Identification Number onto all window glass. A sticker also is applied to alert any potential thief that the vehicle is marked. The marking makes it difficult to send vehicles to chop shops.

All SPC faculty, staff and the general public are invited to participate in this program. Participants may qualify for an insurance deduction upon completion.

For more information, call (806) 775-1569 or contact Kenny Burns, associate professor and chairperson of the professional services and energy department, at (806) 716-2357.
