South Plains College Plainview Center to offer Certified Nurse Aide class on Jan. 22

 

PLAINVIEW – South Plains College Plainview Center will offer an eight-week Certified Nurse Aide course from Tuesday (Jan. 22) through March 16. Class will be held in Room PC125 at the SPC Plainview Center, 1920 W. 24th Street. Clinicals will be held offsite. Enrollment is limited to 10 students. 

The classes will meet from 5:30 p.m.. to 9:30 p.m.. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Clinical schedule will be from March 2 through March 16, on Saturdays and Sundays. The course costs $500 ($300 for the CNA class and $200 for CNA clinicals.)  

Students will learn the necessary skills to work in long-term care, home health or hospital environments. The class will focus on a method of instruction that provides detail education, training and work-base experience as well as direct patient/client care, generally at the clinical site. 

Students must bring a valid driver’s license or ID and a social security card. Additional requirements include all shot records with proof of immunization for MMR two shot series or TITER; TB Test not older than one year prior to the first class day; Tetanus not older than 10 years prior to the first day of class; Hepatitis B (Number One, Number Two and Number Three) or TITER); Varicella or proof of chicken pox and a flu shot. A background check will be conducted on all students enrolling in the class. 

Participants must complete the SPC CE application at www.southplainscollege.edu/community/continuinged.php and register for the class. New students must create an account while existing students can log-in.
