South Plains College to crown Miss Caprock 2022-23 in Scholarship Pageant

LEVELLAND – The 64th Annual Miss Caprock Scholarship Pageant is slated for 7 p.m.. on Nov. 17 (Thursday) in the Tom T. Hall Production Studio. 

Zacharias Molina of Eagle Pass will serve as the Master of Ceremonies. He is an Agriculture Communications major and a Levelland Senator in the Student Government Association. Musical entertainment will be provided by Creative Arts student Lainie Nelson.

The winner of the pageant will receive a $750 SPC Scholarship. The first runner-up will receive a $500 SPC Scholarship. The event will feature nine contestants who have been nominated to represent an academic department, student club or campus organization.

Shelton Furlow, 19, is a sophomore Psychology major from Seminole. She is the daughter of Philip Mack and Mary Furlow. She represents SPC Resident Life.  

Harley Garcia, 19, is a freshman Cosmetology major from Abernathy. She is the daughter of Angel and Mary Garcia. She represents the SPC Cosmetology program.

Alyssa Guevara, 19, is a sophomore Broadcast Journalism major from Ralls. She is the daughter of Mireya Rosales. She represents SPC Campus Ambassadors.

Cali Hargrove, 19, is a sophomore Animal Science major from Levelland. She is the daughter of Darren and Janet Hargrove. She represents the Baptist Student Ministries.

Chloe Jones, 23, is a sophomore Science major from Lubbock. She is the daughter of Tricia Britton and Timothy Jones. She represents the SPC Science Club.

Lexie Lee, 20, is a sophomore Chemistry major from Levelland. She is the daughter of Bruce and Tina Lee. She represents SPC Tutoring.

Kristina Long, 19, is a sophomore Graphic Design major from Levelland. She is the daughter of Shannon Peterman and John Long. She represents the Levelland campus Writing Center.

Lizbeth Medrano, 19, is a freshman Pre-Med major from Amherst. She is the daughter of Jose Andres and Josefina Medrano. She represents the SPC STAR Center.

Machayla Parkinson is a freshman Early Education major from Levelland. She is the daughter of Robyn and Monty Parkinson. She represents the Education Department.
