SPC students to compete for Miss Caprock title on Nov. 16

 

LEVELLAND – The 61st annual Miss Caprock Scholarship Pageant is slated for 7 p.m.. on Nov. 17 (Friday) in the Tom T. Hall Production Studio at South Plains College.

 

The Mistress of Ceremonies will be Sharon Race, assistant professor of English. Musical entertainment will be provided by Creative Arts students.

 

The winner of the pageant will receive a $750 SPC scholarship and the first runner-up will receive a $500 SPC scholarship. The nine contestants, listed below, were selected as representatives for their student club or organization.  

 

AlmagerAllyssa Almager, 19, is a sophomore Pre-Veterinary Medicine major from Levelland. She is the daughter of Jose Almager and Cynthia Camacho, both of Levelland. She represents the STAR Center.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

AlvarezShannell Alvarez, 20, is a sophomore pre-nursing major from Lubbock. She is the daughter of Rudy and Toni Alvarez of Lubbock. She was nominated by Catholic Student Ministry.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

BippertAutumn Bippert, 20, is a sophomore photojournalism major from Austin. She is the daughter of Kara Perry of Georgetown and Travis Bippert of Austin. She represents the Plainsman Press.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

chavezJulie Chavez, 19, is a freshman English major from Lazbuddie. She is the daughter of Julia and Teodoro Chavez of Muleshoe. She was nominated by the Residence Hall Association.

 

 

 

 

 

 

GilillandRebecca Gililland, 20, is a sophomore psychology major from Wolfforth. She is the daughter of Marsha and Tony Gililland of Wolfforth. She was nominated by the Student Government Association.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

GonzalesDominique Alexis Gonzales, 20, is a sophomore accounting major from Whiteface. She is the daughter of Alma Gonzales and Charles Gonzales, both of Whiteface. She represents Campus Ambassadors.

 

 

 

 

 

 

letcherAshly Lethcer, 20, is a sophomore geology major from Artesia, N.M. She is the daughter of Chad and Tabitha Letcher of Artesia, N.M. She was nominated by Campus Ambassadors.

 

 

 

 

 

 

LewisDanisha Lewis, 18, is a freshman sports broadcasting major from Lubbock. She is the daughter of Clarence Lewis of Lubbock. She represents the Black Student Union.

 

 

 

 

 

 

ReeserSusannah Reeser, 20, is a sophomore pre-med major from Guadalajara, Jalisco. She is the daughter of Kimberly and Don Reeser of Guadalajara, Jalisco. She was nominated by the Biology Club.
