South Plains College Natatorium now open for fall 2020 swimming, classes
LEVELLAND – The Natatorium at South Plains College Natatorium is open for the fall 2020 semester. SPC provides swimming classes for the campus and the community for people of all levels and ages. The pool closes Dec. 10.
The Natatorium will be closed Sept. 7 for Labor Day, Oct. 16 for Fall Break; and Nov. 25-27 for Thanksgiving. The pool is not available for parties this semester.
Memberships are designed for the whole family. For full time SPC faculty, staff and students and Hockley County seniors over the age of 65, there is no admission charge. Fitness Center Members can present their ID for free admission. The cost for full time SPC Staff Family is $75 yearly. The community family rate (2 adults/2 children) is $150 semester or $300 annually. For couples, the cost is $100 per semester or $200 annually. The cost for singles is $75 per semester or $150 annually; and the guest rate (must accompany a member) is $5 per person.
Lap Swim Only is available from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday; from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening; and 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Recreational swimming is not available this semester.
The Community Classes cost $75, and classes will run through Dec. 4. Enrollment is limited. Register for all of the following classes online at https://secure.touchnet.net/C20027_ustores/web/store_main.jsp?STOREID=1&SINGLESTORE=true.
- The Early Bird Swim (lap swimming only) is offered from 6:30 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
- The Shallow and Deep Water Aerobics (non-instructional) is offered from 7:15 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
- The Arthritis Swim (instructional) featuring exercises that helps the joints and muscles is offered from 8 a.m. - 8:45 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
- Water Aerobics (instructional) is a cardiovascular program that helps improve strength and flexibility. The class will meet from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
