SPC to host quilting orientation class on Jan. 29

 

LEVELLAND – South Plains College’s Division of Continuing and Distance Education will host an orientation class for all of its quilting courses starting at 5:30 p.m.. in Room 121 of the Technical Arts building. 

The instructor will be Vickey Vest. 

There will be two different quilting classes offered in spring 2018. 

The Monday weekly class will start at 5:30 p.m.. on Feb. 12. The cost is $55. This class will be construction of a Double Wedding Quilt. During orientation, participants will receive a list of supplies including fabric yardage needed for the quilt. This class is not designed for beginners. 

The Tuesday weekly class will start at 5:30 p.m.. on Feb. 13.  The cost is $55 plus cost of kit.  This class will be construction of a purchased kit. The kit will include all fabric needed for a quilt top and pre-cut pieces for individuals who may have trouble cutting pieces. This class is for all stages of quilters from beginners, intermediate to advance. 

The classes will include full instructions for piecing a quilt top with lots of tips and tricks to help students finish their quilts from beginning to end and includes binding.
