South Plains College to honor 13 retirees for fall 2021

 

LEVELLAND – South Plains College will recognize 13 employees who retired during the fall 2021 semester during a reception at 10 a.m. on Dec. 17 (Friday). The retirees combined for 287 years of service to SPC and each played a vital role in the continued success the college as well as the thousands of students who pass through its doors annually. 

 

The retirees are Tammy Amos, Beverly Jan Decker, Charlie Ehrenfeld, David Etheredge, Laura Graves, Sicily Ann Gregory, Don Hill, Gary Leaf, Elisa Melchor, Sherry Phillips, Debra Steele, Robin Werenko and Linda Young.                                                            

Amos, administrative assistant to Creative Arts, is retiring with 28 years of service.

Decker, program coordinator and assistant professor of Cosmetology in Plainview, is retiring after 17 years of service.

Department chairperson and Professor of Journalism and Plainsman Press Advisor Ehrenfeld is retiring with 26 years of service.

Professor of Biology Etheredge is retiring after 35 years of service.

Professor of Government Graves is retiring after 29 years of service.

Gregory, department chairperson and professor of Accounting, is retiring with 43 years of service.

Assistant Professor of Welding Hill is retiring with 17 years of service.

Leaf, general maintenance, is retiring after 14 years of service.

Melchor, custodian, is retiring with 24 years of service.

Mailroom Clerk Phillips is retiring after 14 years of service.

Instructor of Vocational Nursing Steele is retiring with nine years of service.

Werenko, mailroom clerk, is retiring after 17 years of service.

Young, disability accommodations specialist, is retiring with 35 years of service.
