SPC offers tutoring for students on all campus locations

LEVELLAND – South Plains College offers tutoring for full time and dual credit students to assist them in their academic endeavors. Students should not wait until they fail a test or bomb an assignment – they should take advantage of this opportunity now.

According to Rebecca Grunder, academic success coordinator, it’s not too early to start thinking about tutoring as part of a successful collegiate strategy.

“Students who need help can find tutoring on all of our campuses especially if they need help with math or English,” she said. “We offer tutoring for many other subjects as well.”

Tutoring is available Monday through Friday on all South Plains College campuses. Students can schedule tutoring appointments on the website https://www.southplainscollege.edu/exploreprograms/artsandsciences/teacheredtutoring.php.

If cases where SPC tutors are not available, students with access to Blackboard have three free hours per week to utilize Tutor.com. Students also can book standing appointments each week.

“The sessions are reset each week, and it’s available to all of our students,” Grunder said.

Grunder also said she is looking to hire individuals to serve as Academic Coaches. Former teachers, retirees or anyone interested with a background in education who want to help students and work up to 15 hours weekly are asked to contact her.
