SPC’s Creative Arts faculty slates CD release party Sept. 12

 

LEVELLAND – The faculty members in South Plains College’s Creative Arts Division will perform during the official CD release party of Creative Arts Faculty Collective at 6 p.m.. on Sept. 12. The show will be held in the Tom T. Hall Production Studio.  

“This CD involved the all of the departments with everyone playing on each other’s songs,” said Brent Wheeler, assistant professor of Commercial Music. “The CD will feature 12 songs ranging from to jazz to rock and roll.” 

The CD will cost $10, and the proceeds from sales will be used to support competitive departmental scholarships. 

Wheeler added that original and some previously released songs are showcased on the CD. The artwork for the CD is provided by the Design Communications program. 

Wheeler said the CD will have a presence on social media such as YouTube. He is currently working on having the CDs available for purchase in local retail stores.
