SPC receives $2 million grant from Moody Foundation for Career Services Center construction

South Plains College’s Career Services Center development project will proceed with the support of a $2 million grant from the Moody Foundation. The grant was provided as part of the Moody Foundation’s M-Pact Fund, an approach that fuels student success in areas of deepest impact and greatest need.

SPC’s new Career Services Center, set to open with full-service operations in August 2027 on the Levelland campus, will provide a place for students to gain the necessary skills for securing a job after college.

“The Moody Foundation’s M-Pact grant supports South Plains College’s expansion of its student services,” Dr. Stan DeMerritt, vice president for SPC student affairs, said. “This new opportunity to spark collaboration with alumni and industry partners will ensure the success of SPC students and fulfill regional workforce demands.”

From interview rooms to collaborative workspaces, the Center will house in-person and online resources to help student services staff foster career-ready graduates for positions in the arts, the sciences, technical fields and healthcare. The Center will also be a place for recent SPC graduates to hone their job-hunting skills or for alumni to recruit talented students.
