SPC Driving School earns approval as state testing site

REESE CENTER – South Plains College’s Driving School has been approved as a third party testing site by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

According to Jay Warnick, director of Continuing Education and Workforce Development, South Plains College will conduct its first official road test on Wednesday (July 24). SPC will have two testing routes on site.

“In the past, when students complete the classroom portion for their Commercial Driver’s License, they had to wait a long time to take the road test,” Warnick said.

The nearest testing sites in the area besides the Department of Public Safety DL are located in Midland and Amarillo, Warnick said.

“Now students can complete the four-week course and test right here on site to obtain their license,” he said.

The next four-week class begins July 29.
