SPC’s Monte Carlo Evening garners over $108,000 for scholarships

Members of South Plains College and the local community came together for an unforgettable night of high stakes and higher purpose at SPC’s Monte Carlo Evening on March 6. Hosted by Hockley County Credit Union, the event generated $108,178 for student scholarships.

Patrons tried their luck at casino games for the chance to win playing chips redeemable for raffle prizes. All proceeds from these games and the event’s live auction supported SPC students.

Ticket sales and event sponsorships totaled $56,750. The live auction, which featured a Las Vegas Sphere getaway for four and other prizes, brought in $24,750. Eagle Rubber and Supply won the SPC Street Sign Naming, an auction item donated by the SPC Board of Regents each year.

“Everything came together in such a beautiful way, and I’m proud of how our community showed up for our students,” Samantha Goldie, director of SPC Development and Alumni Relations, said. “From caviar in the concourse to our faculty band to the many volunteers inside the human slot machine, South Plains College truly brought Monte Carlo to Levelland.”
