SPC to host live, silent auctions at 26th annual Scholarship Gala

LEVELLAND – South Plains College is hosting its 26th annual Scholarship Gala, and guests are invited to participate once again in three, exciting fundraising opportunities. Patrons at the Gala will have exclusive access to live and silent auctions. The two auctions feature unique items donated by Levelland and Lubbock community members, SPC programs, alumni and other generous supporters.

While the Gala does not start until 6 p.m. on Feb. 23, guests can view the auction items online beforehand. Participation in the two auctions is only available to those attending the event, and tickets are available at www.southplainscollege.edu/gala. Attendees are encouraged to register on the auction website before arriving at the Gala.

Auction items this year include an autographed guitar and CD by Grammy Award-winning artist Taylor Swift, a Kansas City Chiefs football helmet signed by Super Bowl superstar Travis Kelce, a helicopter ride for three, a swimming party for 50 people at the SPC Natatorium and much more. The SPC Street Sign Naming, an item donated by the SPC Board of Regents, will return for this year’s live auction. SPC will also host special raffles at the Gala featuring three items that are sure to excite patrons.

"We have a great auction committee this year with members who have worked hard on getting custom-made and one-of-a-kind items. The auction couldn't take place without our community volunteers," Catherine Krueger, SPC assistant director of development and alumni relations, said. "Our auction items this year are sure to add some excitement to an already exciting night."

The Auction Committee is supported by volunteers from both SPC and the community. This year’s committee members are Suanne Alexander, Breann Buxkemper, Lisa Delgado, Raynie Gibbs, Catherine Krueger, Shelby Lewis, Kati Moody, Dee Dee Ninemire, Robyn Reaves and Katy Rush.
