Whitlock Memorial Endowment to boost success of SPC HART students
South Plains College’s heating, air conditioning and refrigeration technology (HART) students will have new opportunities to achieve their career goals due to the new Bill and Addie Belle Whitlock (Odessa) Memorial HART Endowed Scholarship. Established in honor of a beloved Odessa College faculty member, the $25,000 endowment reflects a commitment to student success.
The late Bill Whitlock dedicated his career to shaping the next generation of professionals as an instructor of refrigeration and air conditioning.
In honor of Bill’s legacy, his daughter, Anna Henry, and her husband, Bob Henry, endowed a $25,000 memorial scholarship through the SPC Foundation. The endowment was a heartfelt Christmas gift to Bill’s wife, Addie Belle Whitlock, and is a meaningful tribute that ensures his passion for education and student success will continue to impact lives.
The scholarship will benefit students enrolled in SPC’s HART program, with a preference toward students from Odessa or graduates of an accredited high school in Ector County. Recipients must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA.
