Fall 2023 | Welcome Week
Through a partnership with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, three SPC faculty participated in workshop sessions and are now going to share what they have learned. Because of this partnership, SPC is able to offer stipends to full-time faculty participants who successfully complete all components.

ONLINE COURSE
The course that accompanies the Fall 23 Professional Development series is built in Blackboard Ultra. South Plains College will move to the Ultra course template in Fall 24. This will allow faculty to participate in the Ultra format as a student to experience updated features.
Each live session will have an accompanying online piece including activities to be completed.
Additionally, each section will also have instructions on how to implement the concepts in Blackboard Ultra as we prepare for next fall.
FUNDING STRUCTURE
In order to be eligible for the stipend*, full-time (full load) faculty will be required to:
1. Attend 2 of the three days (3 of the 6 live workshops)

- Tuesday at 9 am and 1 pm
- Wednesday at 9 am and 1 pm
- Thursday at 9 am and 1 pm
2. Complete 5 of the 8 modules in the online course

3. Implement AT LEAST 1 of the practices from 2 of the 3 sections. 2 total new practices into their Spring 24 course

4. Complete the exit survey form in the Blackboard course
5. Submit a 3-minute video in spring 24 detailing the updates/changes made to course(s)
*Stipend amount will be based on total participation, minimum expected $500, paid end of September.
