Testing Requirements

TEAS, the most recent version of the test used for entrance purposes, measures fundamental reading and math skills which are the foundation for building the nursing knowledge needed for safe and effective nursing care. Students must be able to read at a 12thgrade level or higher in order to read and comprehend nursing material. Students must be able to work fractions and decimal problems in order to calculate medication dosages. 

The TEAS test is a computer examination on reading and a paper/pencil exam for the math. A 4-function calculator is provided for the math portion. 

Candidates may register in person on the Reese Campus, Building 8, Room 805. The candidate must have the SPC Student ID, picture ID (i.e. driver’s license) and form of payment (cash, credit card or money order) OR the candidate may register online to pay by credit/debit card. Cost of the exam is $75 and payment is required at the time of registration. The test fee is non-refundable.
