BMH. Dean of Dual Enrollment & Distance Education

SUMMARY

Develops and carries out academic policies and programs for South Plains College as directed by the Vice President of Academic Affairs by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Administer college-level courses offered at off-campus locations, including all courses offered for dual credit in area high schools.

Administer the development and scheduling of adult vocational courses for business and industry for the Levelland Campus and in coordination with the Associate Dean of Workforce Development at the Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center.

Administer the collection of tuition and fees for adult vocational courses by authorized personnel.

Administer the development and scheduling of community service courses, including course content, for the Levelland Campus in coordination with the Associate Dean of Workforce Development at the Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center.

Organize and administer off-campus educational programs assigned to the Office of Continuing and Distance Education.

Coordinate the distance education course offerings with the Instructional Deans and departmental chairpersons and develop the schedule for classes offered through the South Plains College Rural Interactive Television network to rural locations in the college service area.

Responsible for planning and assessing the operations and programs of the Continuing Education and Distance Learning Division.

Responsible for the preparation of the annual operating budget for the division and its implementation upon approval by the Board of Regents.

Coordinate and assist the Dean of Enrollment Services and the Registrar with all activities and efforts related to registration off-campus course offerings.

Coordinate with the Instructional Deans all distance learning activities related to their respective divisions.

Serve as a permanent member of the Administrative Council, the Academic Council and the Instructional Council.
